Imam Muda

It all started when I found this video on youtube.com.. Title: HambaMu from Imam Muda featuring Akhil Hayy and Mawi.. I love the song.. I find it enlightening.. Then later on I found out that those men in that video were actually contestants from this reality TV shows "Imam Muda".. Details as per this link.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Imam.

Briefly:

10 men entered the show as contestants, aged between 19 and 27.] Over 1,000 people auditioned to enter the show. Each week of the show, the contestants were tested by undertaking ritual tasks (such as delivering sermons) and on their religious knowledge. The head judge was former imam of Malaysia's National Mosque, Hasan Mahmood.
The prize for the competition's winner included a scholarship to study at Al-Madinah Internation University in Saudi Arabia, a pilgrimage to Mecca, a posting as imam of a mosque, 20,000 Malaysian ringgit and a new car.
The two finalists were Muhammad Asyraf Mohd Ridzuan and Hizbur Rahman Omar Zuhdi. On 30 July 2010, Muhammad Asyraf, a 26 year old religious teacher, was announced as the winner.
The two finalists 2011 were Mohd Hassan Adli Yahaya and Nazrul Izwan Zolkiflee On July 2011, Mohd Hassan Adli Yahaya, a 26 year old, was announced as the winner for Imam Muda 2.

I feel that this is the best reality shows ever.. I have yet to watch it though but I feel there should be more of this shows, be it reality or drama which brings forward the meaning of Islam.. bringing more awareness about what Islam is all about. (I dont think they aired in in Singapore but I will be sure to google them out.. Would love to see the show.. someone told me.."are u sure u are into these kinda shows or was it because of those to-be Imams?" And I answered, " In life, if u dont learnt anything in a day, is the same as living life as a living corpse, its not about the contest, its about what was being delivered from the shows.. what it takes to be a leader in our religion. If this is about guys, I could have just tune in to those Manhunt kinda shows" Duh!!

Quite honestly, when u look at all the Imam Muda contestants, they all look..well I couldnt think of a word right now.. but it just seems peaceful.. u know those kinda of face where deep down u know this is what the Malay Muslim community needs.. a refresher and a modern perspective living thru the Islamic ways...especially in Singapore.. the younger generation seems to be more appalled to the western culture. Generally u see only the older folks would make their way to the mosque while the young, they spent their time gallavanting , else working their way in this materialistic world! Sad, but it is the truth.

Lets hope that with more and more awareness created, our younger generation will learnt to cultivate this beautiful and perfect religious conciousness in their life. InsyaAllah.

I gave Malaysia media or whoever started this Imam Muda 2 thumbs up! May Allah bless u! :)
